1. What is Subtitles?

Subtitles is a movie entertainment place. We provide you with more than 4,000 movie titles to rent and 4 viewing rooms for you to have a private movie - viewing sessions.

2. Where is Subtitles?

Subtitles is located in the basement floor # 29 – 30 of Darmawangsa Square City Walk, Jalan Darmawangsa Raya VI – IX. If you get confused when seeking our store, just look for the basement elevator and we are right across from it.

3. What is your opening hour?

We are open from 10 am to 10 pm from Monday – Thursday and Sundays. And on Fridays and Saturdays, we are open from 10 am to midnight.

4. How can I become a Subtitles Member?

You can come to Subtitles store and ask our crew for our membership form. All you need to do is fill out the general personal information required in the form, pay the fee, and you are ready to rent our movie collection. But if you have limited time, just click on JOIN MEMBERSHIP on our website’s main menu and follow the instruction explained. Once you are registered as our member by filling the on – line form, our crew is going to call you for confirming the registration.

5. What are the procedures after I sign – up to be a member?

After you fill out the membership form, our crew might do some crosschecking by calling the phone number you write on the form and confirm the address you live in, just to make sure that the data is correct. For your first movie rent, you cannot bring the DVDs home in the same day. Our crew will deliver it to your residence the next day to verify the address.

6. I have packed schedule and cannot come to Subtitles every time I want to rent DVDs. Can you deliver the DVDs to my residence?

Yes, we can for PREMIUM and PLATINUM Membership. Because we value your time as much as you do, we provide a delivery and pick up service for our members.

• First, list down the DVDs you want to rent. Check all our collection in this website!
• Second, call our store (021 – 72788336 / 337) and tell our crew about your list.
• Third, pick a date and time convenient for you and we will deliver your DVDs to your residence
• Fourth, call us once you are finish watching all the DVDs. We will pick them up at your home

7. I want to rent a movie which you don’t have in your collection. Can you look it up for me?

Yes, we can. It is our commitment to become Jakarta’s movie – volt and to give the best service to our members. So if we don’t have the movie that you are looking for, feel free to fill the Movie – Request Form in our store or simply write us an e-mail. We will look for the movie requested and inform you once it is available so you will be the first to enjoy it.

8. What is Subtitles Viewing Rooms?

Viewing Rooms are private theaters in Subtitles. Here we provide you the facilities to watch a movie in different atmosphere as an alternative to regular movie experience in a cinema or at your home. We have 3 regular viewing rooms called Almodovar, Fellini, and Kurosawa viewing rooms and 1 High Definition viewing room.

9. What is High Definition viewing room?

High Definition viewing room (a.k.a Hi – Def viewing room) is one of Subtitles’ private theaters which specialized in screening Blu – Ray DVDs. It has the highest quality pictures for the current movie technology. Try our Hi – Def viewing room and get amazed by the clarity of the movie as you’ve never seen it!

10. Can I watch in Subtitles viewing rooms with bunch of my friends?

Yes, you can. Our regular viewing rooms have maximum capacity of 8 people. If you bring larger crowd, each extra person will get charged by Rp 10,000. But we don’t limit your crowd size so you can have a good movie time with as many friends as you’d like. Except in Hi – Def viewing room, the capacity is only for 4 people.

11. How can I watch a movie in Subtitles Viewing Room?

Just call our store to make a reservation. Pick the day and session which suits your schedule, and leave us your name and telephone number for D – day confirmation. On D - day, please come to our store 30 minutes prior to your screening session to pick your movie to watch. If you get confused when picking a movie, call our crew to give you a hand or follow the instruction on Subtitles’ “How to pick a movie to watch?”

12. How much does it cost for me to use Subtitles Viewing Room?

Each regular viewing room (Almodovar/Fellini/Kurosawa) cost Rp 150,000 per 120 minutes. High Definition viewing room cost Rp 150,000 per 150 minutes. (Rp. 200,000 in friday & Saturday for all theater)

13. Are the viewing rooms comfortable?

Yes, they are. The regular viewing rooms (Almodovar/Fellini/Kurosawa) are equipped with 2 comfortable puffy sofas and 4 pillows. The High Definition viewing room is equipped with a pair of reclining leather chairs and soft blankets. All rooms are private, sound – proof, fully air – conditioned, and have an internal telephone for you to call our crew for any help you need. You are also allowed to eat and drink inside the viewing rooms.

15. Do you have other viewing facilities which are more relax than the private Viewing Rooms?

Yes, we do. Since September 2009, we have launched the Subtitles Viewing Lounges called Tarantino and Wong Kar Wai. Each costs only Rp 40,000 per movie viewed. The Wong Kar Wai lounge has a capacity of 4 people and the Tarantino lounge has a capacity of 2 people. Wong Kar Wai lounge is equipped with a large sofa with built – in speaker and a 43 – inches flat – screen TV. Tarantino lounge is equipped with a pair of bean – bag chairs, a 43 – inches flat – screen TV, and a pair of headphones for a more private feel to your movie – viewing experience.

16. Can I bring my own DVD to watch in Subtitles Viewing Rooms / Lounges?

Yes, you can. But if you bring a pirated DVD to watch in Subtitles, we will take the DVD at the end of your viewing session and obliterate it. This is Subtitles’ act of commitment to not support piracy, particularly in the movie industry.

17. Do you sell original DVDs too?

Yes, we do. We sell original DVDs from JIVE! collection which are available in our store. However if you want to buy a particular DVD aside from JIVE! collection, please inform our crew at the store or write us an e-mail about the movie you are looking for. It may take 2 – 3 weeks for the DVD to be ready for you to buy since most of the original DVDs are imported.
